Audi presentará el R8 eléctrico en Frankfurt

En cuanto al R8 Spyder, estará equipado con un motor V8 de 4.2 l y 425 Cv, y un V10 de 5.2 l y 532 Cv. Tendrá techo de lona, en vez de uno rígido, además de dos salidas ovaladas, en lugar de 4 salidas como la versión coupé.

Audi R8 electric concept coming to the Frankfurt Motor Show

In a recent interview, Rupert Stadler, Audi’s boss, confirmed the presence of the Audi R8 Roadster at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, which will come in two versions, powered by the 4.2-liter V8 engine but also by the 5.2-liter V10 powerplant. OK, now here is the surprise: due to the high success of the Tesla Roadster, the German manufacturer will also come with an electric version of the R8 at Frankfurt which means that Audi is preparing to have the same success in Europe that Tesla has in U.S.

Rumor has it Audi is bringing an electric version of the awesome R8 to the Frankfurt Motor Show and parking it alongside a drop-top.

Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport says Audi will finally unveil the R8 Spyder at the show. French moto-mag L’Automobile says it will be available with the 4.2-liter V8 producing 420 horsepower or the lovely 5.2-liter V10 good for 525.

As if that weren’t cool enough, Auto Motor says Audi also has an R8 EV concept headed to Frankfurt. No one’s got any details, so it isn’t clear whether the car will be a full electric or a hybrid. It wouldn’t be the first time Ingolstadt has experimented with making its mid-engine supercar more eco-friendlier. It showed off the tire-shredding, 24-mpg 12-cylinder R8 TDi at the Detroit auto show in 2008.
