Las turbinas eólicas contratadas están destinadas al parque eólico la Rumorosa ubicado en el Estado de Baja California. El alcance de este contrato incluye el suministro de los aerogeneradores, su instalación y puesta en marcha, así como su operación y mantenimiento. El inicio de los trabajos de montaje está previsto se realice durante el segundo semestre del 2009.
La consecución de este nuevo contrato, el primero alcanzado con este promotor, se realiza tras la adjudicación a Turbo Power Baja Energy de la primera fase de un concurso internacional convocado por el Gobierno del Estado de Baja California. Asimismo, afianza la posición de liderazgo de Gamesa en el mercado mexicano donde la compañía ha instalado desde el comienzo de su actividad 186 MW, cifra que representa la mayor parte de la potencia eólica instalada en el país.
Desde el punto de vista medioambiental, los aerogeneradores suministrados por Gamesa al parque eólico la Rumorosa contribuirán a generar un abastecimiento energético respetuoso con el medio ambiente, al evitar la emisión de sustancias contaminantes a la atmósfera. En concreto, la producción anual de los 10 MW de estas instalaciones sustituirá a 2150 Toneladas Equivalentes de Petróleo (TEP)/año y evitarán la emisión a la atmósfera de 15.000 toneladas de CO2 /año.

Gamesa reaches a new agreement to install 10 MW in Mexico
* The Spanish company will supply five Gamesa G87-2.0 MW wind turbines to Turbo Power Baja.
* This is the first agreement reached with this wind energy developer in the State of Baja California.
Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica has entered into an agreement with the company Turbo Power Baja Energy for the supply of a total of five Gamesa G87-2.0 MW wind turbines, amounting to the installation of a power output of 10 MW.
These wind turbines will be destined to the Rumorosa wind farm located in the State of Baja California. The scope of the above-mentioned agreement includes the supply of the wind turbines, their installation and start-up, as well as their operation and maintenance. Assembly work is expected to be commencing in the second half of 2009.
This agreement, the first attained with this wind energy developer, was reached after Turbo Power Baja Energy was awarded the first phase of an international tender organized by the Baja California State Government. It likewise strengthens Gamesa’s position of leadership in the Mexican market, where the company has installed 186 MW since it started up its activities. This figure accounts for most of the installed wind power output in the country.
From an environmental viewpoint, the wind turbine generators Gamesa will supply to the Rumorosa wind farm will contribute towards generating energy supplies that are respectful to the environment by avoiding the emission of pollutants to the atmosphere. More specifically, the annual production of these installations’ 10 MW will replace 2150 tons of petroleum equivalent (TPE) per year and avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 15,000 tons of CO2 a year.
